So this weekend I atttended an event at the newly refurbed Doltone House at Hyde Park.

Greeted at the Elizabeth Street entrance with a gorgeous red carpet entrance and welcoming smile from the Doltone House representative, butterflies rang rings around my stomach as the anticipation rose. I was looking forward to this!

As I entered the hallway, a most stunning chandelier sparkled from above. Making our way into the lift, I couldn't help but notice the mirrors and beautiful white marble floors.

Exiting at level 3, we stopped in our tracks to marvel at a second beautiful chandelier draped gently through the centre of a gorgeous black and gold staircase. We were then shepherded (ever so gently) into an adjacent room for pre-dinner drinks and canapes.

Elegent. long stemmed glasses of fabulous Sav Blanc were passed around by the smartly dressed waitstaff. Our group positioned ourselves right where the canapes were being bought through in an effort to sample absolutely all of them. The cheesey, crumbed potato bites were directly on par. I was also pleasently surprised with the mini BBQ pork buns - something I was definitely not expecting. Then came the moment I had been waiting for - we were then escorted to the Ballroom.

Candlelight licked the ceiling. It was beautiful.

Large, black candleabras as far as the eye could see. Sparkling glassware, starched black table cloths and resplendantly floured loaves of bread adorned the oval shapped tables. Deceptively facinating chairs encircled the tables - they looked like black wrought iron, but were actually fabric.

Waitstaff were suitably attendant from the moment we sat down, ensuring glasses were always full. Entrees of perfectly roasted Lamb and Quail were presented to the guests. Every last item on the plate was devoured with the appropriate gusto.

With the main course came succulent Beef Cheeks with creamy mash and perfectly cooked Ocean Trout with an asian inspired crab slaw. Our mouths rejoiced as the flavours danced. The amazing food that the Doltone brand is renowned for providing had finally been experienced.

We were left begging for dessert. But thankfully didnt have to wait long. Pear Tart Tartain with creamy double vanilla icecream and a light, yet rich Flourless Chocolate Cake with muscat jelly and turkish delight were delicately placed in front of us. Yumm-o.

As I was leaving the venue, I was happy to relive the chandeliers we encountered on the way in - still marvelling at their splendor second time around.

This refurbished venue is exquisite. Service is sublime. Definitely a place I want to go back to.

Great mini review of Doltone House Hyde Park—it looks like such a stylish venue for events. Reading about spaces like this reminds me how important the catering side is to the overall experience. In Dublin, the delicious food co plays a similar role, providing fresh and reliable menus that really elevate corporate gatherings and private functions.
